Your customer ordered Friday expecting Monday; the parcel lands Tuesday because Sunday isn't a working day on that lane. Weekend delivery in India is inconsistent — here's the honest map.

The coverage reality

Hyperlocal fleets run daily — riders don't observe the working-week. National couriers are patchier: some deliver Sundays in metros, most hubs run skeleton crews, many COD remittance runs skip weekends entirely. 'T+3' quietly becomes 'T+3 weekdays' in practice.

The metro exception

In the top cities, Sunday delivery does happen — Delhivery, Xpressbees and the big networks run limited Sunday operations where density justifies it. The same network that delivers Sunday in Mumbai won't in Salem.

The honest ETA

Quote 'working days' or add a weekend buffer — a Friday booking promising '3 days' should mean Wednesday. The customer math differs from the courier math; your checkout language resolves it.

The same-day exception

Weekend delivery is hyperlocal's advantage — Sunday same-day is available where fleets run, which is most days everywhere they exist.

Pakka Parcel runs the whole stack described here — one place for every carrier.

The playbook

1

Know your lanes' weekend coverage

Test or ask — Sunday delivery is carrier-specific.

2

Quote working days

'T+3 business days' is honest language.

3

Use hyperlocal for weekend urgency

Riders run Sunday; couriers mostly don't.

4

Buffer weekend orders

Friday +3 days = Wednesday, not Monday.
